The Consumer Credit Act 1974, as amended, requires the OFT to prepare and give general notice of information sheets to accompany arrears notices and default notices. Lenders are required (since 1 October 2008) to include a copy of the current information sheet with each relevant notice under the Act.
The information sheets are intended to help debtors and hirers who receive arrears notices or default notices under the Act, by providing information on key rights and responsibilities and where to go for help or advice.
PDF versions of the information sheets are available to download below. There are two PDFs for each sheet. One is for colour printing and the other for black-and-white printing. The PDFs are suitable for inkjet, laser (digital) or offset litho printing. Further instructions are set out in the General Notices.
Copies of the information sheets can be made available in alternative formats (large print, Braille or audio tape) on individual request by consumers or lenders.
Revised information sheets (edition 4/13) take effect from 11 April 2013. After that date, creditors should only use this edition. The relevant General Notice can be found in the lower section of this page. The revised sheets are:
