The OFT is responsible under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, which regulates financial services and markets, for keeping under review the rules and practices of the Financial Services Authority (FSA), recognised investment exchanges and recognised clearing houses.
If the OFT considers that any of the rules or practices have a significantly adverse effect on competition, we must make a report, which is sent to the Treasury, Competition Commission and FSA.
We are further required to report on the rules and practices of recognised exchanges and recognised clearing houses that apply for recognition under the Act.
The Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 can be seen on the OPSI site.
