BT's discounts: alleged cross-subsidy
No. 28/05/2003
The Director General of Telecommunications has investigated whether British Telecommunications PLC (BT) infringed the prohibitions of Chapter II of the Competition Act 1998 relating to a contract offered to a customer. It was alleged that BT made it a condition of its contract with the customer for data services that the customer also 'switch' its voice traffic to BT.
The Director General of Telecommunications has concluded that the contract does not constitute and infringement by BT of the Chapter II prohibition.
