Consumer Credit Appeals Tribunal
This page has information about Consumer Credit Act 2006 and Consumer Credit Appeals Tribunal.
If we have decided that you are not fit to hold a consumer credit licence, you can appeal against our decision.
Appeals in respect of licensing decisions made by the OFT before 6 April 2008 should be made to the Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform (BERR). These appeals are heard on behalf of the Secretary of State by an independent panel. You can obtain information about how to appeal from the BERR website.
Appeals in respect of licensing decisions made by the OFT on or after 6 April 2008 will be heard by an independent tribunal, the Consumer Credit Appeals Tribunal. This new tribunal is part of the Tribunals Service, an executive agency of the Ministry of Justice.
The Tribunal also hears appeals from decisions of the OFT under the Money Laundering Regulations 2007.
For more information on the Consumer Credit Appeals Tribunal and guidance on the appeals process visit the Tribunals Service website.
