Information sheets
The Consumer Credit Act 1974, as amended, requires the OFT to prepare and give general notice of information sheets to accompany arrears notices and default notices. Lenders will be required to include a copy of the current information sheet with each relevant notice from 1 October 2008.
The information sheets are intended to help debtors and hirers who receive arrears notices or default notices under the Act, by providing information on key rights and responsibilities and where to go for help or advice.
The OFT published a General Notice with information sheets on 16 January 2008. A further General Notice was published on 4 April 2008, making a minor amendment to the January notice and introducing Welsh language versions of the sheets. Copies of the information sheets can be made available in alternative formats (large print, Braille or audio tape) on individual request by consumers or lenders.
The General Notice of 16 January 2008 is available here (pdf 75 kb).
The General Notice of 4 April 2008 is available here (pdf 64 kb).
PDF versions of the information sheets are available to download below. There are two PDFs for each sheet. One is for colour printing and the other for black-and-white printing. The PDFs are suitable for inkjet, laser (digital) or offset litho printing. Further instructions are set out in the General Notices.
