Being duly authorised by the Director General of Fair Trading, I am satisfied that Mr Adrian Mark Gooch (Mr Gooch) of Rose Cottage, 20 Main Street, Houghton-on-the-Hill, Leicester
was convicted on 8 March 1985 at Leicester Crown Court of five counts of theft these being offences of fraud and other dishonesty within the meaning of Section 3(1)(a)(ii) of the Estate Agents Act 1979 (the Act).
Being thus duly empowered to make an Order under Section 3(2) of the Act, and by virtue of these matters and by Mr Gooch having engaged in practices falling within Section 3(2) of the Act involving breaches of a duty owed by virtue of an enactment, contract or rule of law and which is material to his fitness to carry on estate agency work, and being satisfied that Mr Gooch is unfit to carry on estate agency work generally, I hereby make such an Order prohibiting Mr Gooch from doing any estate agency work at all.
The Order shall not come into operation until any appeal under Section 7(1) of the Act and any further appeal has been determined or the period in which such an appeal may be brought has expired.
