Details of order under section 3(2)(a) : 

Being duly authorised by the Chairman of the Office of Fair Trading, I am satisfied that ALAN LANGLEY-SMITH trading as HADLEYS ESTATE AGENTS of 31 Queens Road, Brighton BN1 3XA, has:

1) engaged in a practice declared undesirable by an Order made by the Secretary of State as provided in section 3 (1)(d) of the Act, namely Regulation 2(a) and paragraph 2 of Schedule 1 of the Estate Agents (Undesirable Practices) (No.2) Order 1991(the 1991 Order)

2) failed to comply with an obligation imposed on him under section 21(1) of the Act, within the meaning of subsection 3(1)(c) of the Act.

Being thus duly empowered to make an Order under Section 3(2)(a) of the Act, and being satisfied that Alan Langley-Smith is unfit to carry on estate agency work generally, I make an Order prohibiting Alan Langley-Smith from doing any estate agency work at all.

The Order shall not come into operation until any appeal under Section 7(1) of the Act and any further appeal has been determined or the period in which such an appeal may be brought has expired.
