Argos, Littlewoods and Hasbro - replacement decision

The OFT has today issued a decision that Argos Ltd, Littlewoods Ltd and Hasbro U.K. Ltd have infringed the Chapter I prohibition of the Competition Act 1998 by entering into agreements fixing the prices of Hasbro toys and games.

This decision replaces that of 19 February 2003 (see OFT press release 18/03), further to a procedure set out in an Order of the Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT) on 30 July 2003. The CAT amended this Order on 9 October 2003 and changed the date by which the OFT had to issue any replacement decision to 21 November 2003. The penalties being imposed are identical to those imposed by the February decision. The text of the decision will appear on this website soon.
