OFT response to U.S. Department of Justice statement

In response to the statement by the US Department of Justice this afternoon in relation to price fixing on airline fuel surcharging, OFT Chairman Philip Collins said:

'The OFT has worked closely with the Department of Justice in this matter which has demonstrated the benefits of international co-operation between competition authorities. Such close co-operation is intended to deal with companies that operate globally and who do not respect competition laws.'
