OFT statement regarding extended warranties for domestic electrical goods

As part of the OFT's ongoing commitment to evaluate the impact of its activities, the OFT has recently commissioned an evaluation of the effects of the Supply of Extended Warranties on Domestic Electrical Goods Order 2005. This evaluation does not constitute a review of the Order or a market investigation. The timing and nature of any OFT review are still to be decided. The evaluation is currently getting under way and is due to conclude by summer 2008, with findings being useful for informing any future review.
