Payment protection insurance (PPI)
Our examination of the evidence gathered during the market study gave us reasonable grounds to suspect that there are features of this market which prevent, restrict or distort competition. Accordingly, on 7 February 2007 OFT referred the market to the Competition Commission to undertake a thorough investigation and, if necessary, to ensure that appropriate remedies are put in place.
The reference follows on from a super-complaint from Citizens Advice and our subsequent market study.
